Russia, Armenia agree to set up aviation incidents investigator
MOSCOW, Nov 22 (PRIME) -- Russia and Armenia have signed an agreement to set up an international bureau to investigate aviation incidents and accidents in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), according to information obtained by PRIME at a signing ceremony on Thursday.
The union comprises Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh said that Russia expects Kazakhstan to join the agreement until the end of 2018.
The new body was earlier approved by the Russian government. Currently, all air disasters on the territory of 11 states of the former Soviet Union are investigated by the Interstate Aviation Committee. Russia plans to quit the agreement on the committee.
